Bishop Jack DeHart and his wife Doris, lovingly know as "Lady
De" by her friends and church members, have been in the full
time ministry for forty seven years. They have served pastorates
in LaFeria, Port Arthur, and Paris, Texas before accepting the pastorate
of Heartland Church in Irving, Texas 32 years ago.
Heartland Church has grown to over fifteen hundred members from the
its small beginning of less than fifty. Dan Dean is now pastoring,
freeing up Bishop and Lady De to travel in ministry in the U.S.
and around the world. Bishop DeHart will lead crusades and pastoral
conference in 4 countries in 2005, as well as travels in conferences
and local church meetings in the U.S. While still ministering at
the church in Irving, his major role is "mentoring younger
men of God, and helping them become all they can be", says
the Bishop. The scriptures declare that there are teachers in abundance,
but "not many fathers".
Bishop DeHart has authored three books mainly dealing with the
focus of much of his ministry, leadership and church growth. Bishop DeHart serves on the board of elder with Global Network of Christian Ministers. He is also an active member of the International Coalition of Apostles(ICA).
The DeHarts have two children, six grandchildren, and four great
grandchildren, with hundreds that call them Nanna and Pappa. They
enjoy snow skiing, golfing and R.V.ing as "fun things"
along with grand parenting.
